Silver Lining in COVID cloud
Thinking of COVID, we start picturing health
problems, lockdown, and food crises. Forming a big dark cloud of negativity.
But what if I tell you that this cloud has a silver lining to it. I can explain
this using a number i.e. 86,400! What do you think?
This is actually the total number of seconds in a
single day that has been given to us by the coronavirus. Due to this pandemic,
we are by default saving a lot of time, and this saving if used effectively can
result in maximum returns later on in life. Here are a few tips I would like to
offer:
1) Podcasts: Think it like a superfood for your
brain. Sitting right at your home you can access the bright minds around the
world. Podcasts can be on any topic like history, science, marketing, finance,
etc. There is also a podcast that helps you sleep. The best part is you can
listen to Podcast any time, like while cooking, exercising, and cleaning. Here
are a few of my recommendations for Podcasts- BBC Earth, 99 percent visible,
Paisa Vaisa, Side hustle school, Myth and legends, The Ranveer show.
2) Online courses: It’s a fact that India produces
the highest number of engineers in the world and yet 70% of them are
unemployed. Its majorly because a lot of times people think that a
graduation certificate is enough. But just look outside, the
competition is so immense that you can never put a stop to your
learning. Thus, with online courses, world-class education comes to you! At
your convenience, on your computer screen. You can get everything here and learn
sitting at home. Here are a few of my recommendations for websites
offering Online courses- Udemy, Coursera, Khan Academy, Byju's.
3) YouTube: One of my friends is learning guitar
and a few others are taking cooking lessons on YouTube. You can too learn
various things on this freely available platform such as a new language,
life hacks, or making science fun. Being the second largest search engine in
the world, you can explore a whole new world of knowledge by using the two
magical world "How to". Here are a few of my recommendations
for YouTube channels- TED-Ed, Josh talks, D!NG, Smarter every day.
In this time of the pandemic, the best update one
can have in their life is the update of skills. Now the choice is yours! Here
are the 86,400 seconds of the day.
